Little Ajax Affordable Housing

City, grid, mountain

Aspen, CO

Little Ajax integrates affordable housing into an upscale single-family residential environment. The result of a partnership with the City of Aspen —who subsidized the project— the building serves the city’s base labor force by offering a fresh take on the traditional courtyard scheme. Sensitive to the neighboring building fabric and its immediate context, the project —with 14 three-bedroom apartments and covered parking for 25 cars— transforms a difficult site into a dense & dynamic family complex.
