To connect the four milieus of the Cary Leeds Center—public park, public courts, clubhouse, and stadium-exhibition courts—we proposed an elevated viewing platform. This unique solution allows any visitor to see seven tennis courts at once, and offers a new vantage point from which the entire Crotona Park can be contemplated. Fabricated in Millville, New Jersey, we chose to construct this platform—as well as the clubhouse staircase and the stadium seating—using precast concrete. It was quicker to assemble and provided a higher-quality, smoother and more consistent finish than if poured on site.
