Building on the Park

New York, NY

A rare opportunity to complete the street wall around Central Park, 145 CPN adds to the rich history along the park’s perimeter. The building is 13 stories tall, far taller than the neighboring 1930s residential buildings. Without falling into contextual pastiche, the façade’s highly articulated bronze profile relates to the height, rhythm and texture of the block while a taut, all-glass skin wraps the top four floors. The shallow lot accommodates 37 floor-through apartments, offering unobstructed views of the park and upper Manhattan.
